Why People Don’t Believe In Climate Science

Scientists overwhelmingly agree that our climate is changing, Earth is getting warmer, sea levels are rising, and it’s primarily because of humans putting lots of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Yet 4 in 10 Americans aren’t convinced
Here’s what psychologists and sociologists have to say about why some people don’t believe in climate science.

  1. Assume AGW is 1. real 2, a bad thing. Question: What global climate should we be trying to achieve? warmer, colder, wetter, drier? And how much?
Given we are being asked to spend untold trillions of dollars, and have every human on the planet to change the way they live, I don'y think its unreasonable to ask for a number, a goal. What I find…interesting is I can't find an answer.

Given that I fully admit I'm Not that Bright, please make it a simple answer. What's the goal?

  2. I don't believe it because I don't believe the predictions, much less the methods (modeling chaotic systems, sheesh) that are used to show cause and effect when it comes to AGW studies. Too many contradictions with the historical records on the effects of CO2 in the atmosphere. Too little emphasis on the AGW crowd doing "real" science… you know, where they actually look at the question, "what if it's not CO2"?, "what other influences on the Earth could explain whatever phenomena they think they are seeing?" Here's what I'd like to see you do a video on…. explain what you think was behind the "Climategate" event. Here's what I believe (and it's NOT because I belong to any social think group): If humans had never existed on Earth the climate today would be EXACTLY the same as it is with us here… today. All this consternation about AGW is about "something else" and has human fingerprints all over it. And you should be very wary of the mob effect these scare tactics have. Be skeptical, especially when someone tries to scare you while also making you feel guilty about something you are doing. That is religion.

  3. I don’t believe in climate warming because my country is getting colder by the day

  4. Its real. Always has been. Not because of people. It might even be a good thing. Do your own research. Better yet, watch ACTUAL SCIENTIST: "Climate Change is a Scam!" After you watch this.

  5. "Why People Don't Believe In Climate Science?" Is it really our brain due to our stoneaged attitude? Well. maybe the facts are not convincing, think about this.
The lie that 97% of scientists agree does not help either. People can feel that, they are not stupid.

  6. I never thought I'd say this but I guess me breathing ended up killing the earth in the end

  7. What you really need to get what you're demanding is an all powerful, unaccountable and oppressive( EU-ish) One World Government. That's exactly what this contrived, delete or hide the contrary data hoax is all about, accelerating socialism for the ultimate destination of a communist world. No thank you.Global Warming Hoax https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QmkHr0W5Vk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEaFzhoS67I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOGt3OzTXBs

  8. No one is arguing that the climate doesn't change. No one denies that the climate changes. By using the term "Climate Change" you're already check-mating yourself.

  9. i and probably many many others "believe in climate change" but doubt it will have a big effect at all for Good reason. The damage done is what matters not the chance of it happening. For instance 1. a 90% chance to get a cold on monday or a 1% chance to get ebola on monday, the cold doesnt really worry me. AND i believe all of the facts!!! (from good sources like nasa and most governments).

  10. Watching this while slouching in my chair in an obviously bored fashion…. then he shows us slides of bored people with climate news going in the background xD

  11. Main reason: is because I have a brain. No one looks at solar output they only look at carbon emissions.

  12. Let me get the state ment here were dumb, humanity is over say goodbye to humans hope i'll be daed by then

  13. No, it's actually because actual scientists, like ecologists, tell us that it's not man made, since WE'RE AT THE END OF A GLACIAL PERIOD. Plus they're skeptical since politicians worked together with climate scientists in the 70s to declare that there is global cooling, and that we are going into an ice age. Their solution was more government intervention in the energy industry and higher costs. Nobody believed it, rightfully so. Fast forward to the 2000s, when the same politicians and climate scientists banded together again to declare that there is global warming, of course we should be skeptical.
